Consultation activities

We ask for feedback regularly to better understand the needs of the health and aged care sector and reflect the costs of delivering safe, high-quality services.

Our annual cycle of public consultations include:

  • Draft Work Program and Corporate Plan – outlines key areas of our work and invites feedback on our planned activities for the following year.
  • Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Public Hospital Services – provides input on the policy approach we use to determine the national efficient price and national efficient cost for public hospital services.
  • Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services – informs the policy decisions that outline our approach to developing residential aged care and residential respite aged care pricing advice to government.
  • Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Support at Home Aged Care Services – informs the policy decisions that outline our approach to developing Support at Home service list pricing advice to government.

Our approach

We publish a range of documents annually and invite our stakeholders to provide feedback and comments through a submission process.

You can make a submission in a way that works for you, including via an online form, email or post.

To ensure openness and transparency, we publish public submissions to completed consultations, unless you request us not to. Most submissions are published in their original format. Handwritten submissions are scanned into PDF documents. If the submission is written in an email to us, submissions are reproduced into a Word document.

If you need help with a submission, please contact us by email enquiries.ihacpa@ihacpa.gov.au or call +61 2 8215 1100.

To stay up to date with news and upcoming consultations, subscribe to our mailing list.
