IHACPA's Role in Aged Care Pricing Fact Sheet
Date published: 17 July 2023
The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority's (IHACPA) role within the aged care sector is to provide annual aged care costing and pricing advice to the Australian Minister for Health and Aged Care. It is the Minister for Health and Aged Care who is responsible for determining the price for aged care services.
This process aims to ensure that Australian Government decisions on aged care funding, including through the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) for residential aged care and residential respite care are directly informed by the actual costs of delivering care.
