The IT Project Officer (Cyber Security) supports the delivery and assurance of IHACPA’s cyber security program within an APS environment. The role coordinates project activities across a multi-vendor ICT landscape, including tracking milestones, risks and issues, and preparing clear reporting to support informed decision-making.
Working with the Director and EL1 Technical Project Manager, the position contributes to the delivery of cyber security governance, audit and compliance activities. This includes supporting alignment with Australian Government frameworks such as the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and the Essential Eight.
The role engages with internal stakeholders, service providers and external agencies to ensure consistent, transparent delivery of outcomes. It requires strong organisational and communication skills, sound judgement, and a commitment to APS values, accountability and high-quality service delivery.

We are seeking talented people with a broad cross section of skills, experience and qualifications to register for our Temporary Employment Register (TER).
The TER assists with filling temporary positions (up to a possible maximum period of 18 months) across Health, TGA and IHACPA and is open for candidates to register an interest in employment at the APS Level 2 – Executive Level 2 classifications. You don’t need to have experience in a government department or the health sector as our staff have backgrounds in a range of fields in both the public and private sectors.
