Executive Level 1 - Policy Manager

This is an opportunity to join IHACPA's Aged Care Policy Branch and play a key role in shaping the future of aged care in Australia. 

In this role, you will support the Director, Aged Care Policy in delivering the aged care work program and related tasks as they arise. You will manage and support delivery of key aged care policy frameworks and projects, including the annual public consultation paper, pricing framework and report, pricing advice to the Minister, pricing model refinements, and funding model reviews. 

You will support the public consultation processes for key IHACPA documents and contribute to the development of agency-wide documents such as the Three Year Data Plan, Work Program, Corporate Plan, and Annual Report. You will prepare ministerial, board, and committee papers and correspondence within required timeframes determined by the IHACPA Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Director, Aged Care Policy. You will also develop and review policies, procedures, and frameworks to support IHACPA’s functions, and build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

APS Level 6 - Policy Officer (multiple positions)

This is an opportunity to join IHACPA's Aged Care Policy Branch. You are responsible for supporting the development of key policy documents pertaining to IHACPA’s legislated function of providing aged care pricing and costing advice to the Minister for Health and Ageing. 

You will be supporting the Manager, Aged Care Policy and the Director, Aged Care Policy in the delivery of the aged care work program and other matters as they arise. The role supports the delivery of specific aged care policy frameworks and projects, including the annual public consultation paper, the annual pricing framework and accompanying consultation report, the annual pricing advice, pricing model refinement projects and funding model review projects. Executive Level 1 - Technical Manager, Aged Care Pricing

IHACPA is looking for a motivated Executive Level 1 - Technical Manager to join the Aged Care Pricing section. The successful candidate will contribute to analysis of aged care data and developing the statistical models that inform IHACPA's advice to the Australian Government on pricing for residential and in-home aged care. Responsibilities will include quantitative analysis, model development, communicating results to stakeholders and collaborating with teams across the agency.

The position requires strong quantitative capability, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex technical matters with clarity. The Technical Manager will lead components of IHACPA’s cost and pricing model development, oversee analytical work undertaken by APS6 Technical Analysts, and prepare high-quality documentation and briefing materials. The role also involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders—including the Pricing Authority, advisory committees and government departments—to provide expert advice and articulate modelling methodologies and results.

Department of Health, Disability and Ageing - Temporary Employment Register 2025/2026

Multiple positions

We are seeking talented people with a broad cross section of skills, experience and qualifications to register for our Temporary Employment Register (TER). 

The TER assists with filling temporary positions (up to a possible maximum period of 18 months) across Health, TGA and IHACPA and is open for candidates to register an interest in employment at the APS Level 2 - Executive Level 2 classifications. You don’t need to have experience in a government department or the health sector as our staff have backgrounds in a range of fields in both the public and private sectors.
