Residential aged care public consultations
Our ongoing public consultations provide an opportunity to connect and engage with a broad range of stakeholders from across the aged care sector.
Each year, we release a consultation paper to outline our pricing principles and approach for developing our pricing advice. The consultation paper highlights key issues and future priorities for residential aged care and residential respite care. We also seek stakeholder feedback on a range of questions.
To ensure our pricing advice reflects the diversity of the aged care sector and the community, we encourage everyone to take part in our consultations. This includes:
- residential and respite aged care residents and their families
- carers and representatives
- providers and aged care workers
- peak bodies
- government departments and agencies
- anyone with an interest in aged care.
Through our consultations, stakeholders have the opportunity to tell us what is important to them in developing our pricing advice.
We use information gathered through our public consultations to develop our annual Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services. The pricing framework is the key policy document that underpins our approach to developing residential aged care pricing and costing advice to government.
