Over the past year, IHACPA continued to advance its core objective of promoting efficiency in the costs of health and aged care services across Australia. The agency’s dedication to transparent and evidence-based advice and decisions has ensured it remains widely trusted and respected.
The annual report details our activities throughout the 2024–25 financial year with highlights including national efficient price and cost determinations for public hospitals and aged care pricing and costing advice.
This includes our financial and operational performance against planned outcomes in the 2024–25 Portfolio Budget Statements and IHACPA’s 2024–25 Work Program and Corporate Plan.

IHACPA has updated the National Benchmarking Portal (NBP) with an additional year of data for the 2022–23 financial year. This enhancement providers users with deeper insights into hospital cost and activity data.
The Aged Care Act 2024 (the Act) started on 1 November 2025. IHACPA has updated the refundable accommodation deposit (RAD) application form to align with the Act and to further improve guidance for providers.
