Prof Paolucci joins a distinguished panel of board members who provide expert advice on IHACPA’s work across the Australian care economy. Members have a wide range of skills and experience, including strong knowledge of health and aged care as well as the healthcare needs of rural and regional communities.
New appointment to the Pricing Authority

IHACPA is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Francesco Paolucci to the Pricing Authority.
About Prof Paolucci
Dr Paolucci is Professor of Health Economics and Policy at the University of Newcastle, Australia, and at the University of Bologna, Italy. He is also the Associate Dean International of the College of Human and Social Futures.
Prof Paolucci brings to the Pricing Authority insights in the areas of public policy, economics and management with a strong focus on health care at a state, national and international level.
Providing expert advice
In joining the board, Prof Paolucci will support the Pricing Authority’s role to determine the national efficient price and national efficient cost each year for public hospital services. He will also contribute to advising the Australian Government on the pricing and costing of aged care services and provide expert advice on other health care pricing matters.
