IHACPA Annual Report 2024-25

The annual report details our activities throughout the 2024–25 financial year. This includes the financial and operational performance against planned outcomes in the 2024–25 Portfolio Budget Statements and IHACPA’s 2024–25 Work Program and Corporate Plan.

Highlights from this year’s annual report include:

Public hospitals

• The National Efficient Price and National Efficient Cost Determination 2025–26 were published in March 2025.
• IHACPA’s hospital policy approach for 2025–26 was published in December 2024 in the Pricing Framework for Australian Public Hospital Services 2025–26. The National Hospital Cost Data Collection 2022–23 Public Sector Report was published in May 2025.
• Updates to the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards Version 4.2 were published in December 2024.
• Updates to the National Benchmarking Portal were released in December 2024.
• The ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS Thirteenth Edition was released in April 2025, with supporting education materials published in May 2025. Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups Version 12.0 was released in July 2025. The Australian Emergency Care Classification Version 1.1 was released in August 2024.
• IHACPA delivered updated savings estimates from the Prescribed List reforms to the Australian Government in September 2024. The Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Public Hospital Services 2026–27 was released in May 2025.
• The IHACPA Work Program and Corporate Plan 2025–26 was published in June 2025. The IHACPA Three-Year Data Plan 2025–26 to 2027–28 was published in June 2025.

Aged care

• The Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2024–25 was delivered in July 2024.
• The Residential Aged Care Supplementary Pricing Advice 2024–25 was delivered in March 2025.
• IHACPA released the Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2024–25 and Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2024–25 in September 2024.
• The Support at Home Cost Collection 2024 was completed in December 2024.
• IHACPA delivered its first Support at Home Pricing Advice 2025–26 and Pricing Framework for Australian Support at Home Aged Care Services 2025–26 was delivered in February 2025.
• The Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services 2025–26 was released in May 2025.
• IHACPA continued to assess applications for increases to extra service fees and applications for refundable accommodation deposit amounts.
