National Pricing Model Technical Specifications 2023–24

This document provides the technical specifications for how the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) developed the activity based funding models for the service streams to be funded for the National Efficient Price and the National Efficient Cost Determinations 2023–24.
As an accompaniment to the NEP23 and NEC23 technical specifications, IHACPA has produced 2023–24 editions of the following:
- Risk adjustments for hospital acquired complications technical specifications, which provides details for how IHACPA developed the hospital acquired complications funding approach and risk adjustment methodology, which has been in effect since 1 July 2018.
- Risk adjustments for avoidable hospital readmissions technical specifications, which provides details for how IHACPA developed the avoidable hospital readmissions funding approach and risk adjustment methodology, which has been in effect since 1 July 2021.
