The PhD candidates are Julia Conway and Daniza Mazevska, who will commence their studies at the University of Sydney in March.
Julia Conway’s project is titled ‘Measuring the influence of hospital funding and benchmarking on Australian public hospital efficiency’. Julia’s research will provide valuable insights into how funding mechanisms and performance benchmarking shape hospital efficiency and system performance across Australia.
Deniza Mazevska’s doctoral research is titled ‘Understanding implementation economics in virtual care’. Deniza’s work will explore how implementation considerations can be systematically incorporated into valuating and costing virtual care, with important implications for pricing reform and the future of virtual care funding in Australia.
Both projects will make significant contributions to evidence-based policy and health system reform.
We look forward to supporting Julia and Deniza as they begin their doctoral journeys and to the impact their research will have on the Australian health care sector.
