The Pricing Framework for Australian Residential Aged Care Services (the Pricing Framework) is updated annually.
The Pricing Framework is the key policy document for the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) relating to residential aged care and residential respite care.
It underpins IHACPA’s approach to developing residential aged care costing and pricing advice to the government for the specific financial year.
Development of the Pricing Framework for 2023‒24 has been informed by stakeholder feedback to the Towards an Aged Care Pricing Framework Consultation Paper released in 2022. The submissions received detailing how IHACPA reached its decisions for 2023‒24, are available on the Consultation page.
The accompanying Towards an Aged Care Pricing Framework Consultation Report details the feedback received during the public consultation period held from 16 August 2022 – 14 October 2022.
