National Pricing Model Technical Specifications 2020–21

This document provides the technical specifications for how the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) developed the activity based funding models for the service streams to be funded for the National Efficient Price and the National Efficient Cost Determinations 2020–21.
As an accompaniment to the technical specifications, IHPA has produced the report Pricing and funding for safety and quality – Risk adjustment model for Hospital Acquired Complications 2020–21. This report provides the detailed technical specifications for how IHPA developed the hospital acquired complications funding approach and risk adjustment methodology, which has been in effect since 2018.
