This document details the components and conventions of the Emergency Care International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) Principal Diagnosis Short List (the EPD Short List) and is aimed at jurisdictions, data managers and health information managers involved in emergency department data.
In addition to this document, an Emergency Department Principal Diagnosis Selection Guide fact sheet has been developed for use by clinicians responsible for selecting the principal diagnosis codes.
