Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2026–27
Date published: 13 March 2026
IHACPA’s Residential Aged Care Pricing Advice 2026-27 is evidence-based and developed transparently. It helps ensure aged care funding is sustainable and meets the needs of older Australians.
Our advice includes:
- the recommended Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) price from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027
- the recommended price weights for each AN-ACC class, respite class and base care tariff category
- the estimated gap between the costs of delivering everyday living services and related revenue received by residential care homes.
Our pricing advice considers a variety of data sources to provide a better understanding of the costs of providing aged care services. This advice also considers stakeholder feedback to our public consultation.
Technical specifications also accompany the pricing advice. They detail the methods used to develop our advice.
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is the aged care system governor and has overall responsibility for aged care policy setting and system management.
