About the plan
We publish a corporate plan each year. It focuses on how we operate, including our key activities, environment, performance measures and capabilities, risks and strategic goals.
As part of our key activities, we have 6 program objectives to deliver:
- Perform pricing functions
- Refine and develop hospital classification systems and provide advice on aged care classification systems
- Refine and improve hospital and aged care costing
- Determine data requirements and collect data
- Investigate and make recommendations concerning cost-shifting and cross-border disputes between states and territories in relation to public hospital services
- Conduct independent and transparent decision-making and engage with stakeholders
Collectively, these objectives support our role in delivering transparent, evidence-based pricing and costing advice to the Australian Government.
How we will deliver on the plan
IHACPA operates in a dynamic and evolving environment. To successfully deliver our work, we will continue to:
- build the skills, capability and knowledge of our people
- enhance infrastructure to support the national activity-based funding system
- utilise secure cloud capabilities and invest in technology that enhances our efficiency
- work with key stakeholders from across government, research and education, industry and community
- support consistent risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting across the agency.
Our people at the centre
Together, we will continue to support our staff through a flexible work environment, strengthening our management and leadership teams and providing targeted learning and development programs. This will help us attract and retain a skilled workforce over the next 4 years.
